Insurance & Liability Disclaimer
Please read before you book or list a trailer.
Nationwide Trailer Rentals does not provide insurance or damage protection for renters or hosts.
Before you tow or list, confirm your coverage with your own insurance company.
Who this applies to
For Renters
Many personal and commercial auto policies extend liability coverage to a trailer while it's attached to your insured vehicle. Coverage for damage to the trailer itself, especially a rented one, varies and is often not included.
For Hosts
Your trailer is not covered by Nationwide Trailer Rentals while it's rented. Many personal policies exclude rental use, so ask your insurer about coverage while your trailer is rented to others, or consider a commercial or rental-specific policy.
Questions to ask your insurance company
Does my policy cover a trailer I'm towing, including a rented trailer?
Am I covered for damage to the trailer, or only for liability?
Are there limits on trailer type, size, weight, or commercial use?
Is my tow vehicle rated and insured for this trailer's weight?
Tip: Call your agent before your pickup date so there are no surprises.
